home sweet home

my plane got in about 8:30 last night and i was able to go to the other terminal and see the belize mission trip group as they claimed their bags. it is so good to be home!!!!!!! mom and dad brought me balloons and nick brought me white roses!

thursday and friday

last night we had our farewell dinner and it was pretty good.  we got to the restaurant about 9:45 and left about midnight.  Then we went out and we didn´t have a curfew last night :) so we could come home whenever.  I came back about 3:15 because it was kind of boring and we weren´t doing anything.  Today Bailey and I got up about 10:45 and then walked around.  I found some light green linen pants for 12 euros so I got them....I would either have to spend the euros or get them converted back....so I spent some.  I am so ready to come home!!!!  We are going to get ice cream tonight and then coming in early.  Oh, and I am going to do my presentation thing on Auburn football :)  I am excited to see everyone!!!!!  I love yáll and miss yáll!!!

movie

last night we went to see ¨La Proposición¨ which is ¨The Proposal¨ in English. It was really cute and I was able to pick up on a few things. It was really funny though because their mouths were not moving with the words since it was a voice over in Spanish. I enjoyed it, but I am excited to see it in English where I actually know what they are saying and so I can laugh at all of the funny comments instead of just facial expressions. Only two days left! I love yáll and miss yáll!

last few days

Last night we went out for tapas and they were pretty good. today some of us are going to the pool so that wil be fun! tomorrow night we are having a farewell dinner and i need to start packing some of my stuff. i am excited to come home even though it is nice here. i miss the US and my family and friends. i can´t wait to see everyone this weekend!!!!!

the weekend

i had a good weekend this past weekend and it was pretty relaxing. on saturday we went to a bull farm and we rode horses. i had a really slow horse though and that was frustrating! it was okay though! then we went and laid by the pool and it was really hot outside. i think i have gotten darker...but you all will have to be the judges when i get back home. we ate paella for lunch and laid out by the pool some more. then we went to a little bull ring and some people got out there and ran aroudn with a baby cow. it was funny because the cow was more scared of the people than the people were of it. it did knock some people down there. it was quite interesting to watch. then we came back to salamanca! on sunday we had a free day and did not do much at all. bailey and i got up at 10:45 and then walked around and went to a little park with chandler because we had forgotten to set up a time to meet everyone else. we then came back to our house and slept for about 4 hours and then i read some in my book. i am on page 410 out of 632 so i am coming along. it is actually a pretty good book...better than i thought it was going to be. (it is crime and punishment). then we ate dinner and went to the plaza and walked around and then when back to the park to try to feed the ducks but they were not very hungry. then we went back to the plaza and people watched. i had a mcflurry...by the way they put chocolate syrup in the m and m one and they use peanut m and m´s. they put caramel in the kit kat one, but i have only gotten in m and m. it was a good weekend and i hope this week goes well too! i am excited to come home and see everyone though!!! have a great week!

friday

yesterday we all went out to dinner at 9 and then went to the school party at Camelot at 11:30. It was okay...but not all that fun. Today some of us are going to the pool which should be fun and I don´t know what we are going to do tonight. In my conversation class we each have to pick a topic to talk about for 10 minutes next week....i don´t know what to talk about yet...but that wasn´t the point...the point is that we had to draw which day of the week we have to go and i got next friday! i kind of wanted the middle of the week...but i would rather have friday than monday so i can see how everyone else does. i hope that everyone has a great weekend and i only have one more week here. i am enjoying it here but i miss home! i love you and miss you all!

i found jeans in H&M!!! They are dark and are really cute! They were originally 30 euros but i got them for 14,95!!!!

wednesday

last night the school party wasn´t very much fun, but it was alright. Bailey (my roommate) told me last night that i kept sitting straight up in bed and rambling on in some otehr language!!!! I know Grandmama can identify with that because she used to tell me I did that a lot when I was younger! i don´t think anything really exciting is going on today...and i am not sure if we are still going to the movies tonight or not...we will see. oh and i think i forgot to mention our new roommate from Poland. Frederica left on Saturday to go back to Italy and Kinga arrived from Poland on Sunday. She speaks Polish, French, and English...but no Spanish whatsoever. She won this trip from a singing contest and is taking classes at the same school i am. she is really nice! but that is about it for now! i hope everyone is doing well! i love yáll and miss you all!

sorry i have not put more updates, but we were gone all sat and sun and the school was closed yesterday because they had about 200 new students come in. We did not have class so that was exciting! Sunday we went to a natural pool and swam! it was so cold but i got in 3 times and my body just went numb from the temperature. Saturday we went to a little town and just looked around and didn´t really do much. yesterday (monday) we went to the pool and spent some time there. it was really fun! i bought some leather sandals yesterday and they are really cute! they were originally 44 euros but i got them for 32 and i really like them! today we have class at four and i think i am going to try to find some cute jeans. at one place they had some for 15 euros..but one pair i liked all the sizes were too big and in the other pair i liked all the sizes were too small. I hope that i can find some that are cute and cheap and that fit! we will see. if not that is okay too! there is a party tonight for all of the new students so we are going to eat there. i think we may go see a movie tomorrow night...but we are not sure yet. i hope everyone is doing well! i love you and miss you all!

update

things have been going well and tuesday night we went out for tapas and they were really good! yesterday (july 1) huge sales started and they will last for a while. i bought a cute sweater thing for 9 euros and a jacket that was 30 euros but i got it for 9!!!! yay!!! it is so cute! we are going to a party for the school tonight which should be fun! i have been eating way to much ice cream here....but it is hard to resist!!!! i hope everyone has been having fun!!! i hear that zander is talking a lot and i wish i could hear him!!! i heard that jackson ross made a stop by as well and i bet he is super cute! i miss you all and i will see yáll in two and a half weeks!

Class went well yesterday and i was nervous but i did fine. we went over some grammar stuff and then we had the conversation part and we had to introduce someone else in the class which was pretty funny. overall it went well and they gave us a binder and a lot of worksheets to put in it. today we are going on a tour of salamanca and then we have class at four and we are going out for tapas tonight. i hope you all are doing well and i am glad to hear the information about the pastor! that is wonderful!!!! to my family: have fun in seagrove! to everyone else: have fun in raleigh!!!

salamanca

i have arrived in salamanca as of yesterday!  we are living with a woman that seems like she is probably in her fifties.  bailey and i have our own bathroom to share and i think the señora and the italian girl staying with us are sharing a bathroom.  the italian girl is basically fluent, but she is hard to understand because her accent is a little weird.  we are trying our best to communicate with our mom and it is going pretty well.  she has an eight month old puppy and she calls him shorty but he never listens...we always hear ¨shorty, ven aquí!  over and over because he never comes!  that means come here by the way :)  we took our placement test this morning and our first class is at four.   i was put in the advanced class which is pretty good to know.  i miss everyone and i hope that everyone is doing well!  keep me updated on the beach, the pastor, everything!  i love you all!

we are in sevilla now and we went to a flamenco show last night. we are going to an amusement park tonight and then are heading to salamanca tomorrow. that should be interesting because we will be meeting our families. i hope everyone is having a great time and enjoy fourth of july week in seagrove! i love you all and i miss you!

i have been hanging out by the pool and on the beach all day! it is so nice out and i have enjoyed it very much....and i think i am getting tan!!! we can see africa if we look closely and it is about 18 km away. they do day trips over to africa if you pay for it. how awesome! i hope everyone is doing well! tomorrow we are going to sevilla!

hola everyone!

i am in estepona and it is right on the beach!!!! it is so pretty and we went to the pool earlier. we are going for a walk on the beach right after we are done with the computers. tomorrow we all have a free day so we are going to go to the beach and the pool. we were in granada yesterday and the day before. it was pretty nice and i bought a few things. we are going to head to sevilla on friday and stay until sat. things are going pretty well and i have made many friends. it hasn't rained here at all!!!! and they eat lunch and dinner really late which is not really working well for my eating every two hours! i hope everyone is doing well and i miss you all!!!! thank you for the birthday voicemails i recieved!!!

today is our second day in spain and we are in madrid. and....today is my birthday!!!! we visited the royal palace yesterday and today we went to two museums. we are going out to eat tonight and leaving for toledo in the morning. i can´t find the shift key...just like jay and my time is counting down on the computer so i didn´t have time to find it.

Today

Today is the day that I leave!!!! My flight is at 4:25 heading to JFK in New York, and then at 9:00 I will be on my way to Madrid! I may not be able to write much the first week because we will be traveling around a lot, but hopefully for the last three weeks I will be able to keep you updated more.
